A South Africa delegation visited the Tindouf camps on the 12th of October to attend festivities, commemorating the «43th anniversary of the Declaration of National Unity».
Representatives from South Africa’s African National Congress (ANC) were later received by the Front’s leader, Brahim Ghali.
On Sunday, 14th of October, Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa, Luwellyn Tyrone Landers held a series of meetings at the Front and was also received by Ghali.
In a statement, made public by the Front’s «press agency», the South African official stressed the position of his country regarding the Western Sahara conflict, confirming the stance of President Cyril Ramaphosa.
On September the 25th, South Africa decided to facilitate visa procedures for nationals from several African countries. Morocco is on the list, which includes African Union members and the «SADR» also.
For the record, Pretoria will begin its two-year term as a non-permanent member of the Security Council in January 2019.
