The US Embassy in Morocco announced in a press release, sent Friday to Yabiladi, that the 2019 edition of the U.S.-Morocco Food Week is to kick off on Saturday, June 15. From Saturday to Friday, June 21, the event is to take place in Casablanca, El Jadida and Marrakech.

The event, under the theme «Moroccan Halal», will be held from June 16 to 18 in Casablanca in El Jadida, inviting «leaders in the food, restaurant, hotel, business sectors», the embassy said. During the same event, New Yorker chef Nasser Jaber «will cook samples of American halal meat using some mouthwatering recipes of his own».

In Marrakech, chef Jaber will meet Moroccan chef Moha Fadel for a «Chef Showcase on Friday, June 21st in Jamaa Al Fnaa». The two chefs will be cooking a «variety of delicious halal dishes made with top-quality U.S. beef».

The U.S.-Morocco Food Week is to «promote the export of American halal beef and poultry to Morocco under the U.S.-Morocco Free Trade Agreement», the US embassy concluded.
