«We are physically and mentally ready to face Benin and we must help our coach implement his plans», said Moroccan footballer Mbarek Boussoufa, Thursday, in Cairo.

«We are suffering from heat in Egypt, but we are ready for [Friday’s] match and we will ignore the weather», he told reporters during a press conference attended by coach Hervé Renard.

«We have all been criticized after the first game but we ignored all the critiques and worked hard to qualify. It doesn’t matter who is being the best player, but the most important thing is that the team is winning the game and achieving the dream of the people».

Meanwhile, Moroccan player Romain Saiss said that the Atlas Lions «must be vigilant and not underestimate our opponent to claim to achieve a good result».

«Benin, who qualified from a difficult group, were able to score two goals against Ghana and trouble Cameroon, the defending champion», he recalled, adding that «[they] will start a new chapter of the competition where [they] are no longer entitled to make errors».

For the record, the Atlas Lions will be playing their fourth Afcon game against Benin on Friday afternoon.
