The body of Moroccan-Canadian flight student Hind Barch, who has been missing since Wednesday night, was found yesterday in the area of Racine, the Sûreté du Québec confirmed, quoted by Radio Canada, hence the official confirmation of the death of the 22 year-old.

Two Canadian Armed Forces aircrafts and one from the Sûreté du Québec have been deployed to locate the missing aircraft, according to La Presse canadienne.

An investigation will be opened to determine the causes and circumstances behind the accident. The Transportation Safety Board will begin work on the scene of the accident this Sunday.

Volunteers were mobilized to try to find the young woman. They surveyed residential neighborhoods north of Brompton Lake, knocking on the doors of local residents in search of people who might have seen the Cessna 172 aircraft piloted by the young pilot.

«Thank you very much for your participation (...) I know you have commitments for the weekend and everything, I am aware. But you left all that to help a person you do not even know, whom you've heard about in the news, but I know her, she's my daughter», Touria Maataoi, the mother of Hind, said.

Her parents described a young woman who was passionate about aviation, who had been dreaming of becoming a pilot since childhood. The day before this disappearance, the young woman and her mother had flown together to Rawdon, in the Quebec administrative region of Lanaudière. «We had fun together. We took pictures and videos of the take-off and landing, she made her trip», the mother of the victim said, with tears in her eyes.
