The prefectural service of the judicial police of Agadir seized, on Tuesday, one tonne and 770 kilograms of chira on board a refrigerated truck.
This operation, conducted in the region of Tikiouine, near Agadir, led to the seizure of the truck loaded with drugs and the arrest of the driver and his companion, said the National police (DGSN) in a statement, adding that after checking their identities, it turned out that one of the two individuals has a criminal record.
The suspects, aged 44 and 28, were held in police custody to complete the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office, in order to identify any other individuals possibly involved in this case and to determine potential links with international criminal drug networks, the DGSN concluded.
