The Casablanca Stock Exchange is planning to attract more foreign investors by facilitating their access, wrote Reuters Wednesday, quoting its chief executive.
Speaking at a conference in Marrakech, Karim Hajji said that he wants more privatizations of state companies, adding that the Casablanca Stock Exchange wants to «boost liquidity (…) open short-term interest listings to foreign investors and launch exchange traded funds (EFTs)», Reuters reported.
«I am doubtful that OCP would be privatized but maybe an affiliate or two of the group could be», he said.
«Royal Air Maroc is likely waiting for profits to improve before it considers privatization and utility companies are not making enough money to privatize», Hajji concluded.
