Morocco has recorded 9 new confirmed coronavirus cases, bringing the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country to 17, the Health Ministry has said in a press release issued Saturday.
The new cases include eight Moroccans living abroad : 4 cases in Spain and 3 in Italy who returned to Morocco in the period between February 24 and March 12. The cases have been recorded in the cities of Tetouan, Rabat, Casablanca, Fes and Khouribga.
The other case has tested positive for the virus after being in contact with another confirmed case.
According to the Health Ministry, the new confirmed cases are currently being treated and are all in a stable health condition.
For the record, Morocco has recorded one death because of coronavirus last week, as an 89-year-old woman who died after testing positive for the virus. On Friday, Morocco’s patient zero recovered.
