1,046 new coronavirus cases were recorded in Morocco during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 23,259.
186 new recoveries were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in the Kingdom to 17,311.
Twelve (12) deaths were recorded between yesterday and today. The total number of deaths related to Covid-19 reached 346.
Morocco now has 5,602 active cases under treatment, most of them are in the region of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (1,644), Casablanca-Settat (1,597), Fez-Meknes (1,164), Marrakech-Safi (587) and Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (293 cases).
79 of these cases are considered to be in serious or critical condition due to age and / or chronic illnesses, including 9 who are on ventilators. These cases are located in Casablanca-Settat (22), Marrakech-Safi (23), Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceïma (18), Fez-Meknes (12), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (2) and Souss-Massa (1).
Tangier, Casablanca and Fez are the most affected cities
Most of the new cases were recorded in the Casablanca-Settat region, with 267 new infections : 231 in Casablanca, 16 cases in Nouaceur, 7 in Berrchid, 6 in Mohammedia, 2 in El Jadida, 4 cases in Mediouna and one case in Benslimane.
Then comes Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, with 258 cases : 235 in Tangier, 13 in Tetouan, 5 in Larache, 3 in Al Hoceima, one case in Chefchaouen and another in Ouazzane.
227 cases were recorded in Fez-Meknes cases: 213 in Fez, 12 in Meknes and two cases in El Hajeb.
Marrakech-Safi has recorded 118 new cases : 94 in Marrakech, 9 in Essaouira, 6 in Safi, 5 cases in the province of El Haouz, one case in Youssoufia and one case in Kelaat Sraghna. For its part, Rabat-Salé-Kenitra has identified 95 new cases : 48 in Sidi Kacem, 14 in Salé, 12 in Kenitra, two cases in Sidi Slimane and one case in Khemisset.
In the Oriental region, 33 cases have been confirmed (16 in Jerada, 11 in Oujda, 3 cases in Taourirt, 2 cases in Figuig and one case in Nador), while 30 cases have been recorded in Draa-Tafilalet (15 in Errachidia , 10 Ouarzazate and 5 in Tinghir).
10 new cases were confirmed in Beni Mellal-Khenifra (3 in Khenifra and 7 cases in Beni Mellal), while 4 cases were recorded in Agadir (Souss-Massa) and 4 in Dakhla (Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab region).
As a result, the Guelmim-Oued Noun and Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra regions are the only ones who did not record any new cases between yesterday and today.
