The National Fund for Social Welfare Organizations (CNOPS) will reimburse the costs of medical services linked to the Covid-19 pandemic for the benefit of its insured members.
This decision was taken following consultations with the Minister of Economy, Finance and Administration Reform, in consultation with the Insurance and Social Welfare Control Authority regarding the memorandum n° 23/2020 published on August 12, 2020, relating to the reimbursement and coverage of services related to the virus, said the ministry and the CNOPS in a statement.
In this regard, a meeting will be held next week at the level of the technical committees under the Inter-ministerial Steering Committee for social protection reform and governance, in the presence of the relevant government authorities and the bodies managing compulsory health insurance.
The meeting will be devoted to studying the possibilities of ensuring the reimbursement and payment of services relating to Covid-19 for the benefit of the insured members, in compliance with medical requirements and financial standards to guarantee the continuity of services through compulsory medium and long-term health insurance regimes.
It will also focus on the modalities and ways of preserving the financial balance of the CNOPS so that it can honor its commitments to healthcare providers and insured members.
