During a meeting held this week at the African Parliament, a Moroccan representative and a person who represented the Polisario clashed. The meeting was temporarily suspended.
Sidi Mohamed Ould Maham, head of Mauritania's ruling party criticized King Mohammed VI for not attending the African Union summit, held in Nouakchott earlier this month.
In his speech, King Mohammed VI stressed the need for fighting against corruption in Africa. Read by Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita at the 31st African Union summit in Nouakchott, the speech tackled the issue and the obstacles it creates.
Currently touring Morocco, Horst Köhler is still counting on the African Union upcoming summit, to be held soon by Mauritania. Unlike his predecessors, the UN Personal Envoy relies on the pan-African body.
