Moroccans stranded in southern Spain were faced with a difficult choice : returning to Morocco while leaving their vehicles behind, or staying without being able to benefit from financial aid and accommodation.
With a delay of a few weeks, Morocco and Spain are preparing to organize Operation Marhaba 2020. The countries have entered the phase of lifting the containment and resuming economic activities.
Moroccans stranded in Spain will be repatriated in the next 48 hours, according to Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita. The operation will be followed by many others, targeting Moroccans stranded in Turkey, France, Gulf countries and African countries.
