Israeli-Moroccan Rabbi Yoshiyahu Yosef Pinto arrived in Morocco earlier this week from the United States and visited the city of Essaouira, where Rabbi Chaim Pinto, who died in 1845, is buried.

According to Hebrew media, Rabbi Pinto recited a special prayer «for peace for all Jews around the world and especially for the citizens of Israel who are engaged in a terrible war on the southern and northern borders of the country».

He spoke about the historical deliverance of the Jews from Egypt and expressed hope for a peaceful resolution to the current situation. «We all pray for peace to come soon in Israel and throughout the world», he said. «I hope that we will soon have the opportunity to witness the end of hardship and the spread of grace and mercy throughout the world».

He praised «the Kingdom of Morocco under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, and the Moroccan security arrangements, because the security situation for Jews in Morocco is better than in New York and Europe».

It is noteworthy that most Moroccan cities frequently witness demonstrations in support of the Palestinian people and reject the Israeli aggression that has killed more than 30,000 people in the Gaza Strip since October 7.
