Moroccan surfer Ramzi Boukhiam has achieved a significant feat, qualifying for the prestigious World Surf League Championship Tour (WCT) 2024, which brings together the world's best professional surfers.

During the Australian event in Margaret River, the fifth of nine rounds on the 2024 CT calendar, Boukhiam brilliantly secured his spot. This qualifies him for the remaining four stages of the Tour: Tahiti (French Polynesia), El Salvador, Brazil, and the Fiji Islands.

«This is exciting news for the national surfing community», the Royal Moroccan Surfing and Bodyboard Federation stated. «The exceptional Ramzi Boukhiam has made the cut and brilliantly qualified for the final stages of the CT! He has demonstrated his talent on the global stage, rightfully earning his place among the best surfers on the professional circuit».

Throughout the second half of the 2024 season, Boukhiam will vie for a coveted spot in the Final 5, who will compete for the coveted World Champion title at the season's conclusion.

Earlier this year in March, Boukhiam had already secured his ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games during the ISA World Surfing Games in Puerto Rico. This marks his second consecutive Olympic qualification after Tokyo 2020. He also impressively claimed the silver medal at these World Games.
