Moroccan surfer Ramzi Boukhiam advanced to the third round of the surfing competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games in Teahupo'o, Tahiti, on Sunday night.
Boukhiam defeated El Salvador's Bryan Perez with a total score of 14.60 points, compared to his opponent's 12.60. The Moroccan surfer will face Brazil's Joao Chianca in the next round.
Boukhiam qualified for the second round on Saturday by finishing second in the fifth heat of the first round, scoring 9.76 points. Brazil's Joao Chianca won the heat with 10.07 points and also advanced, while New Zealand's Billy Stairmand placed third with 5.53 points.
