Tourist arrivals in Morocco reached 11.8 million by the end of August 2024, marking a 16% increase compared to the previous year, according to the Directorate of Studies and Financial Forecasts (DEPF) under the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The DEPF's latest economic report noted that during the first eight months of 2024, Morocco saw 11.8 million visitors, an increase of 1.6 million. In terms of overnight stays at classified accommodations, there was an 8% rise by the end of July 2024, totaling 15.4 million.

This growth was fueled by a 6% increase in July, following a 13% rise in the second quarter, and a 2.9% uptick in the first quarter. Non-residents led this upward trend, with their overnight stays increasing by 13%, driven by factors such as stronger tourism marketing, favorable economic conditions, and improved air connectivity.

Tourism revenues also saw an improvement, growing by 9.5% in July 2024, after a 9.4% rise in the second quarter and a 4.2% decline in the first quarter. By the end of July 2024, revenues had reached 59.4 billion dirhams, up 3.5% from July 2023.
