The Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health (FM6SS), through its Health and Sport Pole, and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) have launched the first University Diploma in football-related injuries and illnesses in Morocco. The first module started on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, and will run over three days, reads a press release by the Foundation.

Headed by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health, the diploma aims to train specialized health professionals capable of identifying and treating pathologies specific to footballers.

The program is the outcome of a partnership between the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and the Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health. It is also part of efforts of upgrading and continuing education, essential to meet the growing demands of top-level sport.

In the run-up to the 2030 World Cup, co-hosted by Morocco, Portugal, and Spain, this diploma is taking on a significant international dimension, says the same source.

During this training, leading soccer experts will share their valuable knowledge and expertise with trainees. They come from prestigious establishments in Europe, offering an enriching exchange of experience. In addition, many of the sports doctors involved in this initiative are also involved in monitoring Botola clubs, reinforcing the synergies between theory and professional practice.
