EasyJet launches direct flights connecting Strasbourg and Marrakech
DR

EasyJet has launched a new direct flight route connecting Strasbourg and Marrakech, with the inaugural flight taking off this past Sunday.

The service will operate twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays, linking Strasbourg-Entzheim Airport directly to Marrakech Menara Airport.

This new route is set to improve connectivity between the two cities, which previously relied on layovers or other airport hubs. It offers a direct alternative for passengers, catering to economic and tourist travel, as well as the needs of the Moroccan diaspora.

According to Soumia Bouhamidi, the Consul General of Morocco in Strasbourg, this route opens a new gateway for enhanced cooperation, opportunities, and mobility between Morocco and France.

Gilles Telliers, president of Strasbourg's Entzheim International Airport, expressed his delight at the success of the fully booked inaugural flight, which was operated by an Airbus 319 with 157 seats.

Telliers noted that the new route meets the increasing demand for connectivity between these two major urban centers, making travel easier for families, students, entrepreneurs, and tourists.

This route is part of a larger effort to expand air links to Morocco, as Marrakech continues to solidify its status as a key tourist destination and international hub.

EasyJet has announced this service as part of a broader strategy to expand its operations in Morocco, a market experiencing robust growth. By 2026, the airline plans to operate a total of 19 routes from seven French airports.
