India's ambassador to Morocco, Sanjay Rana, has delivered an invitation from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to King Mohammed VI, inviting him to attend the 4th India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS-IV), as reported by the Indian Embassy in Rabat.

During the meeting, the ambassador also extended an invitation from Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar to Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita. The discussions are expected to center on enhancing India's involvement in Africa and strengthening South-South cooperation, where «Morocco plays a pivotal role,» according to the embassy's statement.

Back in October 2015, King Mohammed VI was the guest of honor at the 3rd India-Africa Summit, which marked a significant milestone in the relationship between Rabat and New Delhi. Prior to this, India had consistently invited the Polisario to the forum, largely due to pressure from Algeria and South Africa.

The 4th India-Africa Summit is slated to take place from May 28 to 31 in New Delhi.
