A 38-year-old French national of Senegalese origin wanted by Dutch authorities on charges of kidnapping, assault and making violent threats has been arrested in Marrakech, according to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.
The suspect was apprehended on Saturday by Moroccan special police units after authorities received information from abroad. According to a security source cited by the newspaper, checks through Interpol confirmed that the man was the subject of a Red Notice issued at the request of the Netherlands in connection with a case in the city of Zeist.
Following his arrest, the suspect was placed in extradition detention pending legal proceedings. A Moroccan judge is expected to rule on his extradition to the Netherlands, where he is wanted to face justice.
