To collaborate with the heads of government of the Sahel countries to fight against terrorism, organized crime and drug trafficking and to find a solution to the migration problem.

These are the main topics that would were discussed by the Spanish, Moroccan, Portuguese and French representatives at the G4 summit in Seville, El País said.

«We will organize a meeting during the last quarter in Marrakech with the G5 countries, composed of Chad, Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger and Mauritania, to deal directly with the effects of migratory policies. This will allow us to adopt common policies», said Juan Ignacio Zoido, Spanish Minister of the Interior. The latter said that the Central African Republic will replace Mauritania at the scheduled G5 meeting.

This meeting, which is the fourth since the creation of this working group in 2013, also provided an opportunity for the four representatives to sign the Seville Declaration, a document reflecting the commitment of the countries. The text includes an action plan to implement «concrete operational initiatives and expert meetings» and «strengthen cooperation mechanisms».

The objective is to eradicate human trafficking networks and to respond to the demands of the 9,496 irregular migrants who arrived this year in Spain, according to the Spanish Ministry of the Interior

«We will examine and manage, in solidarity, migratory flows based on a shared responsibility and working in the countries of origin [migrants] so that they don’t feel the need to leave» their countries, Added Juan Ignacio Zoido.
