Fifteen Moroccan athletes will compete for the 16th edition of the World Athletics Championships, which will take place from the 4th to the 13th of August in London, according to the Royal Moroccan Athletics Federation (FRMA).
These Moroccan athletics will participate to six competitions, namely the 1500meters race by Malika Akkaoui, Rabab Arafi, Brahim Akashab, Fouad El Kaam and Abdelaati Iguider; the The 3000 metres steeplechase (Fadwa Sidi Madane, Soufyane El Bakkali, Hicham Seguini, Mohamed Tindouft); the 5,000 m race (Soufiane Bouqnantar, Brahim Kaazouzi); the 800 m race (Abdelaati El Guess and Mostafa Ismaily); the long jump (Yayah Benrabeh) and the marathon (Mohamed Reda El Arabi).
The history of the Moroccan participation in the world championships has granted the Kingdom’s athletics 28 medals (10 gold, 11 silver and 7 bronze).
