Four Moroccan nationals were arrested in Gran Canaria, one of the islands of the Spanish archipelago Canary Islands, for raping and sexually abusing a female tourist in an island holiday resort, The Sun reports.

The incident occurred on the 26th of December last year, almost one year before the Police managed to catch the perpetrators.

The attack was recorded on CCTV (Closed Circuit TV), showing the assailants taking turns to force themselves on the victim. According to the same source a fifth man tried to assault the woman an hour later when she was laying barely conscious on the ground.

The British online newspaper states that the victim «told officers she had been raped by one man behind the toilets at a shopping centre in Puerto Rico (…) before being targeted by a second who she said she fought off before managing to escape».

The Gran Canaria police managed to arrest the four Moroccan immigrants, alleged to have entered the territory illegally.
