A Moroccan national was arrested on Wednesday, 14th February, in Paris for being linked to the Thalys train attack that wounded two people, reports AFP quoting a source close to the file.
The same source said that the arrested, 36, is accused of giving «logistical help» to Ayoub El Khazzani, the main assailant in the infamous attack. He boarded the train in Brussels and then opened fire on passengers once it entered France.
The attack made no victims as three American nationals, who were on holidays, managed at the time to stop the attacker and save the passengers.
For the record, another Moroccan national was expelled from Germany to France in November 2017 for allegedly helping to plan the 2015 Thalys train attack.
The suspect identified as Redouane Sebbar is believed to have links with Abdelhamid Abaaoud, a Belgian-Moroccan terrorist who has masterminded the November 2015 Paris attacks killing 130 people.
According to the same source, the 25-year-old Moroccan national has allegedly received orders from Abaaoud to carry out an attack on the high-speed Thalys train linking Amsterdam to Paris on August 21st of the same year. The two men have also traveled together to several European destinations.
