Morocco has launched its first microsatellite to study the Ozone layer, using the Internet of things (IoT), French language newspaper Le Matin reports.

This project was initiated by the British Space Agency KSF Space. The latter, which collaborated with the High National School for Computer Science and Systems Analysis (ENSIAS) announced that the launch was successful.

«This is a unique experience in the Arab world, based on the use of the technology Internet of Things, that knew a great success as an experiment and left a strong footprint reflecting the positive quality of such a university research project in Morocco» said to «Le Matin» Dr. Mohamed Kayyali, president of KSF Space.

According to him «other similar experiences will be launched in Moroccan and international universities during the next year».

This project was also sponsored by the International Federation of Global & Green (IFGICT) in the United States.
