French Montana’s Ramadan-inspired look at the Met Gala becomes a meme

Moroccan-American rapper, singer and songwriter Karim Kharbouch, known by his stage name French Montana, attended Monday the Met Gala 2019, celebrating the first night of Ramadan, Step Feed reports.

At the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, French Montana appeared on the red carpet, wearing an Arab-inspired look. The 34-year-old singer wore a long «Arabic dress» and a Kufiya, a traditional Middle Eastern headdress.

Embracing Ramadan, as well as his roots, French Montana wrote on his Instagram «Cheik Montana, Ramadan Mubarak». One item of his outfit is from Gucci’s Dapper Dan collection, the same source added.

On social media, French Montana’s outfit was turned into a meme about Ramadan and Tarawih prayers. Social media users made fun of the rapper’s Ramadan-inspired look, making jokes about how halal the Met Gala was.
