After Morocco were knocked out by France at the 2026 World Cup, social media became a platform for sometimes fierce criticism of the Atlas Lions. Hakim Doumou, a member of the FRMF executive committee, condemned reactions that, in his view, went far beyond the bounds of sporting criticism. He called for a need to «change mindsets» and prepare for the 2030 World Cup on «sound foundations».
