While placing citizens at the heart of the State's strategy to stem the spread of the new coronavirus in Morocco, Abdelouafi Laftit managed to convey reassuring messages to Moroccans. The Interior Minister urged Moroccans to respect lockdown measures.
The easing of the lockdown may be faster in the coming days depending on the epidemiological situation in each territory, Saadeddine El Othmani said on Wednesday before the House of Representatives. He explained that said easing would depend on the weekly assessments provided by the Ministry of Health.
Morocco is planning to ease the strict lockdown measures it implemented in March to avoid the spread of the coronavirus. The measures take into consideration the disparities in the infection rate between regions, dividing the country into two different zones.
On June 10, Morocco will be lifting the lockdown that was implemented for more than two months to avoid the spread of the novel coronavirus. But after the end of said period, will Moroccans still practice social distancing ?
Speaking before the Parliament, Head of government Saadeddine El Othmani announced that Morocco is extending the lockdown by three additional weeks. He touched upon the developments of the pandemic in the Kingdom.
