Spain : LaLiga gives in to the Polisario and withdraws Dakhla from its Clásico promotional video

A few hours before the start of the Clásico, the Professional Football League (LFP) in Spain gave in to the protests of the Polisario. LaLiga has indeed excluded Dakhla, which it located the day before in Morocco, from its promotional video for the match to be played on Saturday, April 10 at the Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium.

In response to a protest email from the Polisario consulted by Yabiladi, LFP presented its «apologies» for the «discomfort that this video would have caused». «It was never our intention. The Clásico is a celebration of football meant to unite people across the world. Also we proceeded to the deletion of these images and we apologize for it», wrote the Professional Football League.

Nevertheless, the original video included images of Dakhla as a Moroccan city in the Southern provinces. The video is still on the Youtube account of the Spanish sports magazine Marca.
