A Spanish-speaking Sahrawi media confirmed on Monday, May 3, that Polisario leader Brahim Ghali will be heard by Spanish justice. The media close to the Polisario indicates that the mandate issued by the examining magistrate Santiago Pedraz Gómez from the National Hearing in Madrid is a «blow to democracy and the separation of powers in Spain».

«The Spanish justice finally gave in to blackmail and pressure from the Kingdom of Morocco».

This decision, according to the same source, follows the anger officially expressed by Rabat at the hospitalization of the Polisario leader in Logroño, recalling in particular the press release issued by the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 26 April.

This confirmation comes on the same day as the release of a statement by the Polisario announcing an improvement of Brahim Ghali's state of health.

For the record, the weekly Jeune Afrique revealed on April 22 that sending the Polisario leader to Spain was negotiated by Algeria, stressing that Pedro Sanchez would have guaranteed to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune that the Spanish justice would not bother Ghali during the entire period of his hospitalization.
