Morocco Royal Navy intercepts migrant boat near Tan-Tan, rescues 53

The Royal Navy on Wednesday, January 17, intercepted an inflatable boat carrying 53 individuals attempting irregular migration to the Canary Islands, approximately 55 kilometers north of the Port of Tan-Tan. According to a press release from the Royal Armed Forces General Staff, the passengers included 47 sub-Saharans and 6 Moroccans.

The rescued individuals received necessary care before being transferred to the Royal Gendarmerie for standard administrative procedures.
