The number of beneficiaries of direct aid for livestock farmers has now reached 756,000, with a total of 3.172 billion dirhams disbursed so far, announced Mustapha Baitas, Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament and Government Spokesperson, on Thursday.
This support, implemented following royal directives, has benefited 77% of all farmers registered in the national herd reconstruction program, Baitas explained during a press briefing following the Government Council meeting.
He recalled that the program is backed by an overall budget of 12.8 billion dirhams, rolled out in two phases, and noted that its implementation is progressing at a steady pace.
Baitas previously detailed that the first phase of the aid package (6 billion dirhams) includes direct financial assistance for the purchase of fodder, measures to safeguard female sheep and goats intended for breeding, the alleviation of farmers’ debts in partnership with Crédit Agricole, as well as vaccination campaigns and technical support.
