By the close of March 2026, Morocco's automotive sector exports surged to nearly 42 billion dirhams, reflecting a 12.1% rise compared to the same period last year, as reported by the Foreign Exchange Office.
This robust performance is largely driven by significant growth in the construction segment, which soared by 23.7% to reach 16.88 billion dirhams, and the wiring segment, which saw an increase of 10.9%, totaling 16.04 billion dirhams, according to the latest bulletin on monthly foreign trade indicators from the Foreign Exchange Office.
The aerospace sector also showed a remarkable improvement, boosting its exports by 12.6% to around 8 billion dirhams. This growth is primarily due to increased sales in the assembly segment, which jumped by 18.6%, and a slight rise of 1.6% in the Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS).
Conversely, the bulletin from the Foreign Exchange Office highlights a downturn in exports from several other sectors, including textiles and leather, which fell by 14.1%, phosphates and derivatives by 7.4%, electronics and electricity by 4.7%, and agriculture and agri-food by 2.3%.
In total, exports experienced a modest increase of 3.3%, reaching 120.7 billion dirhams by the end of March.
