The Royal Gendarmerie has arrested three suspects, including a young woman, in connection with the murder of a 22-year-old InDrive driver from Sidi Taïbi, near Kénitra. The suspects were apprehended in the Salé area while in possession of the victim’s black Renault Clio.
Yassine, a father of a newborn child, disappeared on May 30, the third day of Eid al-Adha. After repeated attempts to contact him failed, his family reported him missing. The following morning, May 31, his mutilated and burned body was discovered in a vacant area of Ouled Azzouz, on the outskirts of Casablanca.
According to media reports, investigators believe the victim may have been lured into a premeditated trap before being killed. His body was allegedly set on fire to conceal evidence, while the perpetrators fled with his vehicle.
The suspects were placed in custody under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office as investigators work to determine the exact circumstances and motives behind the crime.
Yassine was laid to rest on Monday, June 1, in his hometown of Sidi Taïbi, where family members and relatives paid their final respects.
