Hirak : accused of several serious offenses, Zefzafi and his fellows are placed in pre-trial detention in Oukacha

The investigating judge has ordered a pre-trial detention in the local prison of Casablanca of seven individuals, after their hearing. They were among the defendants implicated in the inquiry according to a communiqué issued by the Attorney General of the King at the Court of Appeal of Al Hoceima on the 27th May 2017, announces the Attorney General of the King to the Court of Appeal of Casablanca.

Investigations are still under the supervision of the Casablanca prosecutor's office with the suspects, who were presented Monday by the National Brigade of Judicial Police (BNPJ) before the Attorney General of the King at the Court of Appeal of Casablanca, according to the same statement.

In the light of the investigations carried out, the Public Prosecutor's Office requested the initiation of an investigation against these persons for their alleged involvement in crimes such as undermining the national security with plots aiming at the devastation, the massacre and the plundering of several regions. These individuals would also allegedly be involved in a conspiracy aimed at undermining the internal security of the State, the attack on the internal security of the State through the collection of sums of money, donations and other benefits to carry out and finance an activity and propaganda aimed at undermining the integrity of the Kingdom and its sovereignty and undermining the loyalty of citizens towards the Moroccan State and the institutions of the Moroccan people, the statement said.

These charges also concern participation in, and contribution to, the organization of unauthorized demonstrations, unauthorized public meetings, participation in armed assembly and acts of violence against law enforcement officials, public incitement and the contribution to incitement against the territorial integrity of the Kingdom, the premeditated hindrance of a cult and other crimes punishable by criminal sanctions, concludes the statement.

For the record, Nasser Zefzafi and six other detainees of the Rifain protest movement had been heard by the investigating judge at the Casablanca Court of Appeals on Monday night, report our colleagues from Le Desk.
