King Mohammed VI orders the creation of a 10 billion dirham fund over coronavirus

King Mohammed VI has ordered the government to create a special 10 billion dirham fund dedicated to the managing of the novel coronavirus.

In a press release, the Royal Cabinet indicates that this 10 billion dirham fund is to upgrade medical devices and acquire additional resources in case of emergencies.

It is also expected to support the national economy, especially sectors vulnerable to shocks such as tourism. The fund will also help with job preservation and mitigation of social repercussions due to the spread of the pandemic, the same communiqué read.
